CURRICULUM  for study  MODULES

SERIES ONE

S1-1-1. SALVATION MESSAGE

This study will give you a brief outline of the salvation message. All the points are important to grasp, so study it carefully, seeking to embrace God’s truths and principles.

Know that Christianity is more than escapism. It is founded on and nurtured through a relationship between the Father and His son or daughter. Christianity is about the grace of God through which we have been saved, and the grace we need daily to walk in the way He wants us to walk, faithful to Him.

S1-2-1. CHRISTIAN FOUNDATIONS

This study will give you an outline of what is required of you as a Christian. It will also show you how to begin claiming your rightful inheritance as a child of the living God. If some of it becomes a little too hard to understand, don’t be concerned. Just drink into your spirit that which you can understand. As you continue to study God’s Word through this teaching programme, we are sure you will come to comprehend His truths and principles at a deeper level, taking in spiritual food as nourishment for your soul.

S1-3-1. COMMUNION

The celebration of communion is an extremely important aspect of Christian worship. This study will focus on the purpose of communion, what it represents, the requirements for partaking of communion and the benefits it provides. Before He ascended into heaven, the Lord gave the Church two New Covenant ordinances - communion and water baptism. And it must be understood that these are not to be voluntary additions or accessories to the Christian life. They are both commanded by the Lord and important for our ongoing spiritual growth.

S1-4-1. WATER BAPTISM

One of the commands which is necessary to our obedience to Christ is that of water baptism. Let’s explore this intriguing subject, even if only briefly at this point, so that we may know and understand its purpose in the life of the Christian.

Note: You may have been a Christian for some time. Know that the truths of water baptism apply to you also and are important to your spiritual growth and your walk with the Lord.

S1-5-1. BAPTISM IN THE HOLY SPIRIT AND WITH FIRE

It is impossible to overestimate the importance of being baptized in the Holy Spirit - for it is impossible for Christians to meet all the requirements of the day and walk effectively in their callings unless they are baptized in the Holy Spirit.

S1-6-1. OUR PRAYER LIFE & THE BLOOD COVERING

Prayer is a significant aspect of the Christian walk. Primarily, it is a means by which we can communicate with God and fellowship with our Lord. Through prayer we can ask in faith for the Lord to meet a need in our life or someone else’s. Scripture declares to us the value and influence of properly focused, properly anchored prayer.

S1-7-1. HEALING

Well what does the Bible, God’s holy Word, say in regard to this subject? Only by examining the divinely inspired words of the Bible can we obtain a true and accurate picture of God’s will concerning sickness, disease, healing and health.

In regard to healing, many make the mistake of substituting a belief in healing for that which is really necessary, i.e. the receiving of God’s grace. This can be compared to believing in food - that it exists - without consuming it, or believing that water exists without drinking it. We must do both with God’s food which is the Word.

S1-8-1. TITHES & OFFERINGS

As we enter into our new life in Christ, God becomes our eternal provider and we can look to Him to supply all our needs, spiritual and physical, as we live according to His Word. One aspect of the Christian walk which is often overlooked is that of the giving of tithes and offerings. Christians therefore tend to give as they feel, rather than as God has instructed in His Word, and as a consequence they block God from blessing them fully in this area.

SERIES TWO

S2-1-1 THE BIBLE AND ITS AUTHORSHIP

This teaching will help you discern in some areas between good and evil, that which is of God and that which is false teaching. We know that in the world there is much incorrect teaching and philosophy based on unproved theory, “gut feelings” and emotional responses. Therefore we need to be thoroughly grounded in God’s Word in order to distinguish right from wrong, and not be led astray by what someone thinks or feels in relation to truth, especially regarding spiritual and moral matters.

The Bible is the divinely inspired and authoritative written Word of God. Indeed God chose and anointed specific men over centuries of time to write down His principles and laws for the benefit of mankind, and these writings together make up a book called the Bible.

S2-1-2 APPROACHING GOD'S WORD

Intellectual knowledge alone of God’s Word will achieve nothing spiritually and be of very little use physically. It is only revelation knowledge - knowledge revealed to our hearts by the Holy Spirit - which will enable us to appropriate the promises. Once Christians have revelation knowledge of God’s Word in any area, there are two further elements needed to make this knowledge fruitful.

S2-2-1 FAITH & HOPE

In this teaching we will look at the subjects “Bible faith” and “spiritual hope” - their definitions, their functions, the relationship between them and their importance in the life of the Christian.

We as Believers have the presence of God within us, so it is reasonable to believe that God’s power must also reside within us as a potential. You will see as we study Bible Faith and Spiritual Hope that all things obtained from God come by His grace through the faith that He develops deep within us. In this way, God’s power residing within us as a potential is realized, and can be called upon accordingly.

S2-2-2 THE FLESH

This teaching on this subject is designed to help us understand the scriptural term “the flesh” - what it means to be led by the flesh and the consequences of doing so, and what it means to be led by the Spirit. We will also look into God’s way of gaining victory over the flesh.

S2-3-1 RECEIVING GOD'S PROMISES

Many people have the misconception that we must put our lives in order before we can come to God to receive from Him. However we know this is impossible, for we cannot deal with sin ourselves. We can only put our lives in order by coming to God in repentance, believing in the Blood of Calvary, and receiving from Him not only His forgiveness but the empowerment we need to gain victory over sin. In this way He can not only make us clean, but also put us on the road to victory through the transforming power of His glorious Gospel.

S2-3-2 DIVINE HEALING

Many people ask about Divine healing in relation to the Bible. The purpose of this section is therefore to help Christians gain a basic understanding of what the Bible has to say about healing, and to help Christians learn how God’s principles of healing can be applied to their lives.

As Christians, the focus of our faith must always be the Cross - therefore who we are in Christ and what we have in Him. This must always be the object of our faith.

S2-4-1 THE NINE GIFTS OF THE SPIRIT

When Christians are baptized in the Holy Spirit, they are immersed in and clothed with the power of God - the power from on high (Luke 24:49). This power is then available, at a potential level, to each Christian who is Spirit-baptized. The purpose of this is to make us effective soldiers of the Cross. The gifts of the Spirit are then the means by which God’s power is able to flow, as, of course, the Spirit sees fit (1 Corinthians 12:11).

S2-4-2 THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT

It can be seen throughout scripture that bearing fruit is a significant part of the Christian walk. We should bear fruit as a matter of course, just as fruit on the tree appears naturally, drawing its life-giving power from the branches and the soil. Christ is our life-giving force, the vine of which we are the branches. So the fruit in our lives should reflect His character and should also appear naturally, not being something that can be manufactured or forced to grow through self-effort. Such fruit can only develop as we allow God’s grace to flow in our lives.

S2-5-1 PRAISE AND WORSHIP

In some Christian circles today, there is a strong emphasis on praise and worship. However, often there is a lack of understanding concerning the purpose of praise and its place in the Christian walk. This brief teaching on “praise and worship” outlines what the scriptures declare true praise to be and what the Christian can expect as they seek to worship God “in spirit and in truth”, as John 4:23-24 tells us to do.

S2-5-2 FASTING & EMOTIONS

Fasting is an often misunderstood and neglected subject within the Christian community. While many religious cultures use fasting as part of their ritual, for the Christian, fasting is primarily a tool which can be used to aid us in our Christian walk. It is not to become a ritual. In this study we will look into the principles of fasting from a practical viewpoint, the benefits of fasting, both spiritual and physical, and the proper usage of this practice within the framework of the Christian faith-walk.

S2-6-1 DEMONOLOGY & OCCULTISM

Those claiming deliverance must be trusting in the finished work of the Cross and the power of deliverance which is available because of the shed Blood of Christ. They must be trusting and believing that when the energies and graces of the Divine Nature are absorbed by their human nature, they will have the power to rise above any fleshly desire or sin. They need to believe that when God’s power is at work on our hearts and minds, deliverance is at hand and nothing can stop His grace except us.

S2-6-2 SPIRITUAL WARFARE

It is important to realize that, as Christians, we fight a spiritual battle - for the Word of God tells us that our real enemy today is not other people but Satan and his forces of wickedness working through yielded vessels:

We cannot see this enemy with our physical eyes, but we can see the effects of his influence in the wars, famines, diseases and suffering that oppress mankind today. Indeed the devil is not a fictitious figure but a real spiritual being who seeks to pervert and destroy all that is good.

S2-7-1 CHRISTIANS AND DISCIPLES

Today, however, the word “disciple” and the word “Christian” can have quite different meanings. If a person is identified as a Christian, it does not necessarily mean that the person concerned is a disciple of Christ - for just being Christians does not automatically make us disciples.

At one time, the words “Christian” and “disciple” were almost synonymous. Years ago, many a person who was a Christian, would also have been a disciple - to some extent. This applied especially at a moral level, in bringing Christian standards to the home, the school and the community in general.

S2-7-2 GOD'S PLAN OR OUR PLAN

In this teaching, we will be examining various requirements for churches, ministries and individuals achieving success in the Lord. We will be looking at the primary ingredients needed to have a successful church, ministry or personal walk. And we will learn how vitally important it is to have a God-given plan so that we can each work towards the goal to which God has called us.

S2-8-1 THE DIVINE NATURE AND THE SIN NATURE

As we know, the Divine Nature is “implanted” or imparted through relationship. Indeed we become a “partaker” of the Divine Nature by Divine “connection.” Therefore, because we are in Christ, we have implanted inside us the Divine Nature. Realize this - that it is God Who owns the Divine Nature, but He chose at the beginning of the human race to create man to be complete only as He shares the energies of His Divine Nature with him. Adam lost this source of completeness and wholeness with God. Those who followed Adam were likewise deficient. Through the Cross, God restored what sin had taken from man, namely the grace of His Divine Nature.

S2-8-2 THE TRINITY & DEITY OF CHRIST

There is one true triune God eternally co-existent in three persons Who constitute the Holy Trinity: God the Father, God the Word and God the Holy Spirit. These three dwell together in perfect unity forming one heavenly government called God, and each of the three Divine persons we recognize to be God. “All three Persons of the Godhead are Divine and can be spoken of individually as “God” and collectively as “one God in the sense of unity.”

SERIES THREE

S3-1-1 THE FIVEFOLD MINISTRY

Today our churches throughout the world really lack in the operation of the Five Fold Ministry offices. For instance, while there is nearly always a Pastor who heads the local church body, and Evangelists who preach the Gospel far and wide, how often do we find true Apostles and Prophets also operating within the Body of Christ? While Teachers are called specifically to teach the Word either locally or on an itinerant basis, and it is right and fitting for Pastors to govern and teach local churches, neither a Teacher nor a Pastor will operate to the same level in the revelation gifts of the Spirit as an Apostle or Prophet should. In this way, sometimes God’s best is then not appropriated for the local church and the Church worldwide.

S3-1-2 THE ANOINTING

In this study we are going to teach on how vital and important the anointing of God is. It is by His Anointing that the Lord brings conviction to the sinner and the Saint, draws souls into the Kingdom, heals, delivers and teaches. The Anointing and the Holy Spirit are inseparable, for where the Anointing is present, so too is the Holy Spirit. Without the Anointing, no true spiritual work can be done.

S3-2-1 THE STORY OF CREATION

The Book of Genesis is a book of beginnings - for this is what the word means. The first four words, “In the beginning God,” give us the antecedent, the reason all creation came into being, for God, Who always was and always will be, created all that is. Evolution is a theory that denies the Creator and seeks to make sense of the created world from a natural human perspective. With no acknowledgement of the righteous and holy Judge, the Creator, the cause of all things, it is totally flawed and hopelessly deceptive in its analysis and its conclusions. From Genesis we learn the authentic story of creation.

S3-2-2 THE FALL & REDEMPTION OF MAN

In the Book of Genesis, we find the story of Adam and Eve and the Tree of Life. We will explore one view of this account in the following outline of the creation story. In the beginning, in a dateless past, God created the heavens and the earth. Then at a further point in time, He established the earth as we know it now, and created man in His own image:

Man can be redeemed by the Blood of Jesus. God displayed His love for man by taking the first step towards restoring peace between Himself and man, the first step towards ending the enmity that had previously existed. It is now up to man to respond to what God has done, by laying aside his hostility and accepting the gift of love that is set before him.

S3-3-1 THE BAPTISM OF REGENERATION

In this study we will learn about the term known as “the baptism of regeneration,” more widely known in terms of the phrase “to be born again.” Strangely enough, although every Christian has been through this experience, many have no real concept of what happened to them spiritually when they were saved.

God created mankind to fellowship with Himself. He already had fellowship with the angels, but man was different in that he was a procreating being. God desired to show His grace and express His love through man, created as he was in the image of God.

S3-3-2 HELL AND THE AFTER LIFE

Before we were saved, our spiritual position could be likened to that of a criminal who has been sentenced to jail for life. What rights does such a criminal have? Can he go anywhere he desires or do anything he pleases? Because of his lifetime sentence, he loses all the rights and privileges which society has to offer. He cannot do anything except that which the prison system allows him to do.

Adam and all his offspring thus lost the right to live within the laws of eternal life, just as criminals lose the right to freely live within society when they break society’s laws.

In the same way as criminals are incarcerated, the spiritual bars which were placed in front of mankind separated people in a spiritual sense from God’s society, this being, in essence, the love of God.

S3-4-1 PENTECOSTAL VS CHARISMATIC PART 1

The spiritual narcotic of darkness permeates the Church world, with false doctrines feeding fleshy lusts for self-rule and material possessions. In the following sections, we endeavour to briefly address some of the heresies which are currently flourishing and are diverting Christians from sound Biblical truth. As Paul warned the Pastors from Ephesus:

S3-4-2 PENTECOSTAL VS CHARISMATIC PART 2

We will endeavour to briefly describe some of the different kinds of false teaching which the Church world has embraced in these last days - to their detriment and the destruction of many lives. We have already touched on some of these teachings in the previous section.

S3-5-1 THE COVENANT OF GOD PART 1

A covenant is a formal binding contract which exists between two or more parties in which each pledges to perform certain actions in regard to the other/s. A covenant is a very serious agreement and something which is not entered into lightly. Nor is it something which is undertaken if there is any intention of revoking it or breaking the commitment.

S3-5-2 THE COVENANT OF GOD PART 2

A covenant is a legal agreement between two parties. It is a will or testament which has conditions that both agreeing parties need to fulfill in order for it to become legally binding and operational. Where the Lord is concerned, a covenant is a 1 sovereign pronouncement by God in which He establishes a relationship of responsibility between Himself and others.

S3-6-1 THE LAW PART 1

There has been much controversy and misconception surrounding the subject of “law.” In this teaching we will establish, briefly, which parts of the law from the Old Covenant have been abolished and which parts remain today. We will also discover how “law” still applies today in New Testament times, and we will examine the benefits of obeying it and the consequences of not doing so.

Man lives, spiritually speaking, either under law and its penalties or under God’s grace. In the Garden of Eden, man fell from grace and came under the penalty of the law, thus becoming responsible for paying the penalty for his own sin. This of course he is unable to do because he is spiritually bankrupt and unable to pay the price. Calvary addressed man’s position and gave him opportunity to come back under grace.

S3-6-2 THE LAW PART 2

God’s law had been broken by man’s sin and only Blood, perfect Blood, could satisfy God’s justice and therefore redeem man. No other blood could do it. The sacrifice of animals could only cover sin, at least for a period of time. God the Word had to become man and die as a man in order to pay the ransom price required. He had to become the substitutionary sacrifice on behalf of man, for man in his sin was unable to pay this price.

S3-7-1 EVERYTHING IS GOVERNED BY LAWS

We will begin this study with a general definition of the term “law.” The word “law” refers to a broad and basic rule or truth which maintains order. Man’s laws are set in force to maintain peace and order in society. Nevertheless they can be changed by governments and other bodies with the legal authority to do so.

God’s laws, however, are absolute and unchangeable, and when the necessary conditions are met, specific corresponding results will occur every time they are brought into operation. Therefore when spoken or instituted by God, a law is then enforced by His power, and becomes a governing force.

S3-7-2 GOD'S PURPOSE IN REVEALING THE LAW

The Law we are speaking of here is the Mosaic Law, the set of commandments handed down by God through Moses to the nation of Israel. The Law covered every aspect of life and indicated what God expected of His people in their dealings with one another (the horizontal level) and with Him (the vertical level). The Mosaic code was incredibly comprehensive and gave the children of Israel a blueprint for living according to God’s righteous standards.

S3-8-1 THE FALSE DOCTRINE OF UNCONDITIONAL ETERNAL SECURITY

The subject of “The False Doctrine of Unconditional Eternal Security” is clouded by misinformation, controversy and scriptural ignorance, and needs the light of God’s Word to be shed upon it so that truth can be revealed in relation to the issues it raises. This we endeavour to do through this teaching book.

At all times we have aimed to present basic Biblical truths concerning this area, truths which will serve to enlighten Christians so they may walk in freedom and victory rather than bondage and confusion. And truth is needed in this area to teach Christians how they may serve God better, how they may gain liberty and freedom in Christ, and how they may be released from bondages arising from past problems and mistakes.

S3-8-2 MARRIAGE DIVORCE & REMARRIAGE

The subject of Marriage, Divorce and Remarriage is clouded by misinformation, controversy and scriptural ignorance, and needs the light of God’s Word to be shed upon it so that truth can be revealed in relation to the issues it raises. This we endeavour to do through this teaching book.

Also, in order to be able to minister effectually and give the godly counsel and wisdom needed to navigate through the complexities of this subject, we will first lay the foundation of the Law of Love. This provides us with the empowering graces we need to live in the truths of God’s Word in this area.

S3-9-1 RAPTURE OF THE CHURCH PART 1

In this first study in the series of “End Times”, we will do a brief overview of end-time events – the Rapture of the Church, the Tribulation, the Antichrist, the Restoration of Israel, the Second Coming of Christ, the Millennial Kingdom, etc.

Let us state from the beginning that all teaching from this college concerning end times is based on a literal interpretation of the scriptures. To be properly understood, eschatology, being the study of “last things,” needs proper hermeneutics.

S3-9-2 RAPTURE OF THE CHURCH PART 2

In order to understand the subject of the Rapture, we need a knowledge of the history of Israel. The nation of Israel, God’s chosen race, played a pivotal and crucial role in the establishment of God’s Covenant with man. The Old Covenant was set in place between God and the children of Abraham. God’s purpose in establishing the Covenant with Abraham was to have a channel through which He could being Jesus the Saviour into the world. Because Israel was to be the womb of the Messiah, it was God’s plan all along that Israel would be the bearer of the good news of the Gospel to the Gentiles. However as we have learned, the rejection by the Jews of the long-awaited Messiah necessitated the ingrafting of the Gentiles (the Church - the Body of Christ) as a wild olive branch onto the true olive root (Romans 11:17-20). From the failure of Israel came opportunity for the Gentiles to be enriched through the Gospel and to bear its tidings (Romans 11:11-12).

S3-10-1 END TIMES - THE TRIBULATION

As we have learned, the seven year Tribulation period is divided into two parts, each consisting of 3½ years.

The first half is called “the Lesser Tribulation” and the latter half is called “the Great Tribulation” - for the second half will be far more severe than the first half.

After the Body of Christ is caught up and taken away, God, in His mercy, will replace the Church on earth with a powerful vehicle designed to accomplish His will. This vehicle will consist of 144,000 Jewish converts (Revelation 7:1-8) who will preach and proclaim the Gospel of Christ. God will use these 144,000 to help bring many Jews and Gentiles to salvation and they will have Divine protection during this time of evangelism.

S3-10-2 END TIMES - THE ANTICHRIST

The Apostle John used the term “antichrist” several times throughout his writings. However it is only in 1 John 2:18 that this term refers to the actual man who has been given the title “Antichrist,” the one who will oppose Christ and all that He stands for.

The basic meaning of “Antichrist” is to “stand against” or “instead of Christ.” The many “antichrists” spoken of by John in this verse have claims to be Christ or to be of Christ. Jesus’ Words “For many shall come in My Name saying, ‘I am Christ’ and shall deceive many” (Matthew 24:5), could have been translated, “I am of Christ,” thus indicating false prophets with false doctrine. The term Antichrist in the singular form refers to a specific person, not one who claims to be of Christ but one who bitterly opposes Him and all He stands for.

S3-11-1 END TIMES - NEBUCHADNEZZAR'S DREAM

Having established the relevant backdrop of Israel’s history and the overview of End Times events through this series of “End Times” teaching, we will now examine the unique account in Daniel Ch.2 of Nebuchadnezzar’s image. This was the dream, given to him by God, which constituted a revelation of world Empires to come. Through this most unusual means, not unlike the dream given to Pharaoh and interpreted by Joseph, God revealed to this heathen King the succession through history of future world powers, Gentile powers which would dominate, persecute and deal with Israel. The interpretation of what Nebuchadnezzar saw then came, of course, through Daniel.

S3-11-2 END TIMES - ZECHARIAH'S VISION

As we examine many of the prophetic writings of the Old Testament, it becomes apparent that most of that which has been prophesied is now undisputed historical fact. This shows and proves the accuracy of Biblical prophecy. With this in mind, let us consider the prophetic writings still to be fulfilled simply as “history in advance.”

We read of Zechariah, a contemporary of Haggai, in Nehemiah 12:16, where he is seen as being one of the priests who returned to Jerusalem to help in the rebuilding of the Temple after the Babylonian captivity. He is also mentioned in Ezra 5:1 and 6:14, along with Haggai, in his capacity as a prophet to the returning exiles.
